How does your mind help or hinder you? A Monkey Mind chatters away about so many topics throughout a day that it is exhausting. No wonder we struggle to find the energy to get everything done.
Learning to calm that mind allows clarity and understanding. There are gems of information in that chatter, but these gems can be drowned out by the unnecessary chatter - the negative, chatter that we can so easily spiral into.
There are many techniques that can be applied to calm and quiet that Monkey Mind. Let's find what works for you.
Stuck in the past
We are conditioned to stay stuck in the past, to live in the past, to be defined by our history. How many times do your friends and family ask you "How are your dreams going?" Instead, they say "How did that go?" That event of yesterday or last week.
So much of our time is spent dwelling on what has happened, not focusing on what we want to happen - our glorious futures.
It's not just ok to leave the past in the past, it's what we need to do to create that dream future.
What is your "purpose"?
It's a well used phrase isn't it? But really - how do you find your purpose? Do we all have a purpose? What do you do with your purpose once you have it? What is it that is unique about me? What value can I add to the world?
Some of us are born knowing our purpose - to be a nurse, to be a fireman - to help others. I didn't know mine. I spent so much time doing jobs - living a life - that didn't match our purpose = unhappy.
Having a defined y purpose will allow you to move forward to a happy place - to find happiness and freedom from within.
